May Develop Rancid Flavor Due To Polyunsaturated Linolenic Acid?
If I store a box of this cereal for too long, I can detect a very slight rancid flavor in it. I am extremely sensitive to this; my friends and family can't tell and think I'm crazy. As long as you eat the cereal within two weeks or so of opening the box, this shouldn't be a problem! The rancidity may be due to the flaxseed which contains polyunsaturated linolenic oils; while they are healthy, they are also highly prone to oxidation. While it is probably not a huge issue, research has suggested that oxidized oils may pose a cardiovascular health risk! I eat it for breakfast every morning and often for a snack as well - it really is tasty and filling, has lots of healthy protein and fiber, and doesn't leave you feeling sugar-shocked like kid's cereals overloaded with high fructose corn syrup and cane sugar. I rotate between the five cereals listed above to keep things interesting. I first encountered this stuff while on internship in the Bay Area. At that point I didn't have much time or inclination to cook, so I came to rely on it for quite a bit of my total caloric intake, eating it with soymilk for as many as two meals a day. To keep things interesting, I augmented it with more almonds, walnuts, pecans, fresh pomegranate, strawberries, or peaches, frozen blueberries, cocoa powder... pretty much anything I could think of! I had a lengthy bicycle commute to work and I began exploring strength training and martial arts three or four days a week at the company gym, and this stuff kept me going. Keeps the Hunger away for up to 6 hours!
I've been hooked on this cereal ever since my girlfriend, now wife, introduced me to it. We now eat it every morning (a little less than a cup) with a quarter apple and half an organic banana each, mixed with Vanilla Soymilk and topped with just a table spoon of a chocolate-flake cereal and it keeps us full from 6:30 AM to about Noon with no urge to snack (if we keep ourselves hydrated). With two people we go through a box every four to five days, about 9-10 servings. We even eat it on weekends, too, and I'm happy with the price and the convenience of subscribe & save. One less thing to worry about and our grocery store sells it for the equivalent of seventy cents more per four-pack so I'm happy with the price too. Occasionally my wife has complained about it being too crunchy and too hard on the roof of her mouth, but that only seems to have been a problem occasionally. The other nice thing about this cereal is that it takes quite a while (hours) to get mushy in case you forgot about it after already mixing it with milk. Great value, great taste, great nutrition, and it keeps me away from mid-morning snacks. Great value for the money!

Best cereal ever
This is my favorite cereal ever! I've been eating it pretty much on a daily basis for well over a year now. I add fresh blueberries and fresh strawberries and it's extremely filling. Even without the fruit it's the most filling cereal I ever ate. Like another reviewer, I also let it sit a couple minutes in the milk before eating. It's very crunchy and satisfies any sweet craving you might have. I love that it's full of protein, fiber, and Omega 3. I don't even think of it as a "healthy" cereal, I just think of it as a delicious cereal. It's not the cheapest cereal but I'm pretty sure it's one of the healthiest and best tasting. The only negative, if you could call it that, would be that I wish they would make the box considerably larger and not raise the price. It is on the pricey side, I think, and I go through a box of it in no time. Other than that, I have nothing to say but good things about it.

Healthy, tasty, absolutely delicious!
If you're tired of the sugary cereals leaving you feeling empty an hour after eating, try this! Especially if you like crunchy, nutty, and all around goodness! At first, I looked at this cereal and thought the price to size ratio was totally out of whack. But, one day, my brother and I gave them a try and we found that we don't have to eat such a huge proportion of cereal anymore! We are no longer hungry an hour after we eat! This cereal is all about fiber and will keep you feeling fuller longer than the sugary cereals out on the market. Amazon's subscription just makes it so much easier and affordable. Give it a try...go to the grocery store, pay the silly price and try this cereal! It IS worth it! Then, come back and subscribe to it. I did!
